people change our lives – for the bad or good.
people break our hearts, dash our plans, and even wreck our cars.
people boost our confidence, create our memories, and even construct our confidence..
despite the pain people inflict or the pleasure people instill, all this tearing down and building up contributes to the construction of one’s individuality.
as a child, you have little choice in your friends.
over time, you realize that both choice and chance goes into friendships.
choice: with whom you associate.
chance: with whom you are blessed.
fate in foresight, the unknown strangers, can instill fear.
fate in retrospect, the loved companions, can warm the heart.
the uncontrollable nature of fate is frightening…but i’m convinced there is purpose in the pain.
the all-knowing nature of God is comforting…now i’m convinced friendships of fate are for gain.
…because choice friends tend to be similar to ourselves.
…however, friendships of fate teach us more: more about others, ourselves, and the blessing of fate.

for all these people, i am who i am today.
for this, i am thankful.
